Are there any health risks when I participate in a study?

Studies carried out at Evalulab are the last step before the launch of products on the market. The safety of all product ingredients is an obligation that has been already verified by the product manufacturer.

It is possible that you may react and/or experience discomfort due to a tested product since some studies intend to evaluate product tolerance. In this case, our dermatologist will be in charge of assisting you and he will determine if the product is responsible for the observed reactions. The safety and well-being of participants is a priority for Evalulab.

I have a dermatological condition (dandruffs, hair loss, psoriasis, eczema, acne…). Can I become a participant?

Yes, of course. During your registration process, indicate the type of condition that you have and any medications that you may be taking (with or without doctor prescription). This will help us to recruit you for studies based on your personal profile.

I am pregnant, can I participate?

No. For safety reason, pregnant or breastfeeding women are not permitted to participate in studies carried out at Evalulab.

I am a minor, can I participate?

Yes, you may be eligible for some types of studies; however, you must obtain your parents’ consent.

What types of studies are offered at Evalulab?

You can consult the Studies In Progress and the In-Home Consumer tests in below sections.

Are appointments scheduled based on my availabilities?

It depends on the study type. Studies performed in presence of a medical professional require appointments that are imposed by Evalulab. In the case of all other studies, the appointments are scheduled based on your availabilities.

Is it possible to participate to multiple studies simultaneously?

It is not recommended to participate to numerous studies simultaneously, even if product application sites are different. You must inform Evalulab if you are participating to another clinical study (in another testing laboratory).

Are appointments scheduled evenings and/or weekends?

The laboratory is open Monday to Friday 8:30AM – 12:00PM and 1:00PM – 5:00PM. In the case of studies with particular needs, the laboratory may open evenings or weekends.

I am not a resident of Montreal. Can I participate to studies?

To participate, it is recommended to live in the Greater Montreal area since you must come to the laboratory for each visit However, Evalulab offers surveys that allow people living outside of Montreal to participate in certain tests. In order to do this, do not hesitate to complete the online form on the web page In-Home Consumer Tests.
